Yoga Anywhere, Anytime, Any Place: How to Develop Home Practice

    05/05/2018

    14:00 - 16:00

    Yogarise

The home practice is a rite of passage for Yoga practitioners. A self practice allows the practitioner to make new levels of understanding of one’s own self, on a physical, emotional, and spiritual plane.

Home practice can liberate a student from time, place, and financial restraints as well as empowering one to have the freedom to explore.

While practicing at home can be daunting at first, with some basic tools and knowledge one can begin to create simple sequences on your own to approach the practice with confidence.

In this workshop, we will look at ways to create simple sequences and familiarize ourselves with a basic Vinyasa template which can be modified in many ways.

If you wish to book for a friend, please email us: team@yogarisepeckham.com. It is only possible to reserve one space under your own name - everybody needs an account and to sign our online waiver. Thank you.

    Foundations Workshop

    May 19, 2018

    13:00-15:00

    Live Karma Yoga

Breaking it down to build it back up. By building strong foundation in the asana, this can allow the practitioner to begin to deepen their practise. Once the key alignment is established, you can begin to layer in the juicy bits, such as breathe, bandhas, and dristhi in order to move the asana practise into a moving mediation. In this workshop we will be doing an asana lab, breaking down fundamental postures and their key alignment, we will explore simple pranayama, breathing techniques, and have an introduction to to what Yoga is and some of it's beautiful philosophies.

you looking to move away from a set sequence but are unsure how?

Do you have student’s in your class you are unsure if they are getting enough out of the experience?

Are you interested to bring more philosophy into your sequencing?

The traditional movement and sequence methodology of Vinyasa Krama honours the breath as our ultimate teacher and source of wisdom. The teachings as passed down by Sri T. Krishnamacharya remind us that Vinyasa Krama, and sequencing when done well, cultivates the art of concentration and helps to suspend Citta.

Through the application of mindful breath coordinated movements, powerfully deliberate transitions (vinyasas) and intelligent sequencing (krama), Vinyasa Krama, the art of intelligently moving from one place to the next, allows for integrating the mind and body into unparalleled states of transformative union whilst being present in the space in between. In this workshop, we will explore how to develop the art of sequencing to enable students to go deeper into the dimensions of Yoga.

During this workshop we will look at how to creatively sequence asanas together to create a union between movement in the body, the breath, and the mind.

We will explore how to create a complete class for different class durations as well as designing sequences which are more inclusive to different experience level’s and needs of individual students.

We will look at how the act of observation is key and how to teach to who is in front of you. By understanding the subtle energy body, we will examine how to create pranic expansion through sequenced asana matched with pranayama and bandhas. We will look at how the philosophy we teach can influence our sequencing and how to weave these two into harmony. Working towards a moving meditation, when sequencing is done well the student can go deep into experien
